What are the important concepts in biology?

We all know that Biology is a subject that deals with the study of living organisms, their origins, anatomy, morphology, physiology, behaviour, and distribution. It is a vast subject and has many branches such as botany, zoology, biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, ecology and so on. Biology gives us details on every organism to which category and classification and to which class it belongs. There are five major kingdoms in the subject where each and every organism takes its place in these five kingdoms. The subject also dives in deep to understand the characteristics of organisms. Plants

Plants are the vital ingredients on the earth. Here we learn all about plants that are about their parts, the life cycle of plants, classification of plants. The major process involved in plants is photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is an essential process that is seen in plants and certain microscopic organisms. Also, all life on earth is directly or indirectly dependent on this process. It is even hypothesised that the progression of life on earth was significantly influenced by photosynthesis.

Transportation

All the organisms need to transport water, food, minerals, oxygen to various parts of the body. They help in the growth and respiration of the cells. The transportation is carried out by various cells, tissues and organs through different processes like osmosis. Osmosis is a process in which the molecules of a solvent pass from a solution of low concentration to a solution of high concentration through a semipermeable membrane. The solutions used in this process are isotonic solution, hypertonic solution, hypotonic solution.

Human body parts

The human body is a complex system and it is made up of a number of organs, cells and tissues. Each and every organ has its own function and importance. Brain, Heart, Stomach, Lungs, Kidneys are some organs present in our body. The brain has other functions and is divided into three parts such as forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain. The cerebrum function under the forebrain and likewise there are other parts as well. Similarly, the heart, lungs and other organs are subdivided and have a specific role in our body.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity is crucial to an ecosystem because each species plays a different role in the maintenance of the ecosystem. Here we come across various concepts like different pattern in species, flora and fauna, conservation of biodiversity, and its importance. What is an ecosystem and the balance between ecosystem and life forms on earth is studied under biodiversity?

Conclusion

Biology has other major topics as well like carbon cycle, oxygen cycle, genetics, study of cells and tissues, life cycle of various species, food chain, food web and many more. The subject helps in better understanding about the life and life forms present on the planet. Medicines and their advancement in technology-supported the subject to grow more and stretch its hands over all the fields and also helped in connecting all the lifeforms present on the planet. Biology is the main subject for studying medicine and curing most of the diseases. The subject has its major contribution in development in and around the world.
